STICKS
Students Tutoring and Instructing in the
Classroom for Kids to Succeed

Purpose:

Do you realize that over 75% of today's occupations require obtaining math higher than geometry?  Math is not only vital in securing a good job, but math is also a subject in which many students struggle with and need assistance.  The STICKS program is designed to tutor and mentor youth between the ages of seventh and ninth grade.  The volunteers assist in building confidence by helping the students build their math skills.

Objectives:

  1. To mentor and build confidence within the youth.
  2. To assist the youth in perfecting their math skills.
  3. To help the child to be happy and develop a positive attitude.
  4. To provide the volunteers an opportunity to be involved in community and it's education.
  5. To build friendships and service within the community.
Goals:
  1. Provide quality tutoring to ensure growth in confidence and skills of the student.
  2. Provide activities to build friendships between tutor and the student.
