Ability Assist: Support for You and Your Family
Effective July 1, 2009, USU entered into a relationship with a new vendor, The Hartford, for life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability. What you may not be aware of are the additional services The Hartford provides to all benefit-eligible employees. The Hartford offers travel assistance, beneficiary assistance (to assist beneficiaries when a family member passes away), estate guidance, and a program called Ability Assist. This program is an employee assistance program (EAP). They can help you with financial issues, college planning, workplace stress, coworker interaction, and family support issues. Information discussed with your counselor is confidential.
To obtain more information on any of these additional benefits, please either contact The Office of Human Resources at (435) 797-0216 or go to www.thehartford.com and click on Business. Then under Care of Employees, click on Group Benefits. At the top of that page in red, click on Coverage Options and go to Extras for You.
