As for my wellness journey, it started about
six years ago after reading Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly
Effective People” and learning that the physical aspect of my life was
suffering greatly. I also had
my wife and kids patting me on my belly and asking me when I was due!
Since then, I’ve worked out at the gym here at USU on a regular basis
each week, learned to eat much better and, as a result, I have gone from
238 lbs. to 215 lbs. In the process, I have
discovered renewed energy, increased self-confidence, increased
capacity to do everyday things and a whole wealth of knowledge regarding
personal health. I still have a bit of a tire around my middle but it
is now a Geo Metro size instead of a truck size.
My next goal is to lose the tire completely and go from 17% body fat to
somewhere around 10-12%, which will be difficult but…I want it!
