Founded in 1969, the Western Historical Quarterly, official journal of the Western History Association, presents original articles dealing with the North American West—expansion and colonization, indigenous histories, regional studies (including western Canada, northern Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii), and transnational, comparative, and borderland histories. Each issue contains reviews and notices of significant books, as well as recent articles, in the field. Published: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

There are several options for obtaining a copy of a WHQ article:

• You can download a copy of the article by going through any library that subscribes to JSTOR and JSTOR CSP, an online journal storage facility. The website is www.jstor.org Your local librarian may also be able to get the article for you through an inter-library loan.
  
• You can download a copy of the article by going through any library that subscribes to Ebsco, an online journal storage facility. The website is www.ebscohost.com
  
• You can order an offprint (if available) or photocopy of the article directly from us for $10.00
  
• You can request an emailed .pdf copy of the article directly from us for $10.00
  
• You can purchase the entire back-issue of the WHQ with the requested article directly from us for $15.00 (Out of print:  Summer 1981,  Winter 1991, Fall 1995, Autumn 2004)
