Herstory
Women of Utah State University
Welcome to "Herstory," a web site dedicated to highlighting the important roles women play in the mission and vision of Utah State University. Throughout Utah State's history, women have worked in a variety of ways to further women's rights, responsibilities, and issues. Their contributions and achievements, individually and collectively, are acknowledged. Important milestones provide a herstorical context on the status of women on campus since the founding of Utah Agricultural College in 1890, progressing to when the UAC became Utah State University in 1956, and beginning the 21st century. "Herstory" is not meant to be an all-inclusive documentation of the accomplishments of USU women, for that would be a daunting task. Rather, the web site serves to provide a sense of accomplishments that overall have helped to shape Utah State University.
The "Herstory" web site is a project of the USU Tri-Council for Gender Programs which is composed of the Women's Center, Women and Gender Studies, and the Women and Gender Research Institute.
