Experience: Four years of pre-college teaching with students ranging from ages five to fifty. Second year of involvement in Utah State University’s Youth Conservatory. Philosophy: My favorite part about playing and teaching piano is the actual process of learning music. Piano teaches self-discipline, problem solving, critical thinking, and artistic communication, all of which are applicable to many aspects of life. Every child is different and it is my goal to find the learning style that best suits the student and therefore facilitates a lasting interest in piano. It is important to me to cover a wide range of musical curriculum, but my main objective is to simply covey how relevant, beautiful, and essential music is.
