Hi my name is Emily Jewkes. I am a Junior in the music program at Utah State
University specializing in Piano Pedagogy. I am very enthusiastic about teaching and
love having students of all levels and ages. My goals as a teacher are to have a well
rounded, organized, and fun lesson structure so your child receives specific practice
goals and assignments each week. I love when parents want to be involved and are
willing to open communication with me. Parents are encouraged to be a part of
practice time and goal making. I work to share my enthusiasm for music and piano
in a way that makes kids excited to play and explore. My students will be expected
to focus on performance practice, theory, lesson songs, ear training, sight-reading,
and composition exploration throughout the semester. I am looking forward to
another great year with the YC!
