Hi! Welcome to the Youth Conservatory at Utah State University! I hail from Southern Oregon and have returned to my roots here in Logan to pursue degrees in both piano performance and Spanish. I love music and the arts, and I believe opportunities to play, watch and hear various musical genres are valuable for a musician. In addition to encouraging such experiences, I will teach piano fundamentals including notes, rhythm, and fingering, making sure to incorporate technique, theory, aural skills, and of course, artistry. I welcome students of various levels but I require a mind ready to think and learn and a willingness to practice daily. It is so much easier to progress when students invest the time to practice and apply at home what they learn at their lesson. Parents also aid by encouraging students to practice and to not give up when the curriculum may be difficult. In return, I will do my best to provide organized, flexible and professional instruction for students as I attempt to make learning music an enjoyable, successful, and such a rewarding process. I am excited to teach piano again this fall and again welcome you to the USU Youth Conservatory and the wonderful world of music!
