JCOM Best & Brightest Feted in Celebration of Class of '05
42 journalism students honored at annual banquet
LOGAN, Utah — The Department of Journalism & Communication at Utah State University celebrated 42 of its best and brightest students Friday during its annual awards banquet on the USU Campus.
Awards were presented to the department's outstanding graduate and undergraduate students of the year in broadcasting/electronic media, print journalism, online journalism and public relations/corporate communications. The event also honored the more than 90 members of the UCU JCOM Class of 2005.
In addition, 2005-2006 scholarships totaling more than $25,000, were announced for students continuing in the department next year.
Salt Lake Tribune humor/religion columnist Robert Kirby was the speaker for the event, which packed the David Haight Alumni Center on the USU Campus.
