Beginners' classes are taught each Fall and Spring semester, beginning shortly after the start of the school term. If you wish to take the class.

As of yet, there will be no more classes taught.

Advanced

After the basic classes are completed, we continue with more advanced instruction and drilling. Each class session runs for about 2 hours - the first hour being the beginning class, and the second being reserved for open fencing and special instruction.

In order to compete, you will need to have a membership in the USFA (United States Fencing Association). This can be obtained for $30 for first-year participants. See the USFA web-site for more details.

Due to the club's standing as a university student organization, non-student membership is restricted to one-third of club membership, so non-USU students will have to reserve space by contacting the fencing club at usufencing@yahoo.com. If there are not enough student members, a non-university student may be allowed to bypass the waiting list by getting two students to join - thereby filling the University requirements of a 2/1 ratio.

All necessary equipment is provided (jacket, mask, and weapon), and electric scoring equipment is available. After completion of the introduction to foil fencing, fencers may choose to take epee instructions.

Wear athletic shoes! This means that you are not aloud to fencing in: wing tips, sandals, moccasins, or anything else with comparable arch and ankle supports. Our new insurance will not allow us to fence at our own risk.
