UTAH GRAZING LANDS
CONSERVATION INITIATIVE (GLCI)

Updated 06/15/05

What is the Utah GLCI?

Utah GLCI is a coalition of producers, producer organizations, conservation district officials, federal and state agency personnel, extension specialists and researchers united in an effort to improve private grazing lands in Utah. The GLCI was organized in the early 1990's when it was recognized that a coordination of existing programs, personnel, and resources would be a benefit to private grazing land (range or pasture) in Utah.

Mission

The Utah GLCI's mission is to encourage private landowners/managers to improve their grazing lands, coordinate technical and financial assistance programs for private landowners, educate private landowners and the public at large about the benefits of well managed and healthy grazing lands, and to promote long-term research and demonstration programs to improve Utah grazing Lands.
