Canvas Accessibility Checker

If you don’t understand everything about accessibility, that’s okay. Canvas has quite a few tools you can use to help make your content accessible. The resources on our site will help walk you through how to use the Canvas Accessibility Checker, including the different types of errors you may see and how to fix them. 

Where to Find the Canvas Accessibility Checker

The Canvas Accessibility Checker is a small stick figure icon located at the bottom of the editing window of any page, assignment, or quiz you create in your course. If there are any accessibility issues in your content, the icon will show a blue number in the upper right corner. Select the icon to see and fix the issues.

How To Use the Canvas Accessibility Checker

Once you select the accessibility icon, a menu will appear on the right-hand side of your screen. The menu will tell you what accessibility errors are on your page and prompt you to fix them one by one.
