Aggie students have long shown pride in supporting their school through the Senior Class Gift, a 100-year tradition at Utah State University. Now students are taking that dedication to whole new level through the new True Blue Pledge - a new student giving opportunity that was created by students, to support students. The pledge is a way for students to display their Aggie pride, as well as show their gratitude for the financial contributions Alumni and Friends of USU make to improve every student’s education.
Students who make a True Blue Pledge commit to making a gift each of their four years at USU. Their gifts support three important initiatives on campus:
• Aggies Helping Aggies: student scholarship support
• Aggies Leaving Legacies: class gifts and campus improvement projects
• Aggies Fueling Passions: areas on campus which the individual student feels most passionate about
TJ Godfrey currently serves as Vice President of Student Giving in the Student Alumni Association. “Utah State University has had a huge impact on my life because of the great educational opportunities, scholarship assistance, and amazing student experience I have enjoyed. Giving back allows me to express my gratitude, but more importantly it allows me to help provide the same opportunities for other Aggie students.”
During the first semester of the program, over 100 students took the challenge and made the 4-year True Blue Pledge commitment. To these students, their gift is so much more than a commitment to give $50 – it is a commitment to become a lifelong Aggie.
