Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC)

Fighting Campus Food Insecurity

Thirty-three percent of Utah State University Logan Main Campus students are considered food insecure. The USDA defines food security as “access by all people at all times to enough food for an active, healthy life.” One-third of USU students do not have the food they need to focus on their coursework and meet their personal and professional goals. Students often reduce the quantity or quality of the food they consume to temporarily address this issue.

The Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC) addresses student needs by increasing access to nutritious foods and personal care products. SNAC is open four days a week, 15 hours a week for patrons, and is staffed over 40 hours a week with student leaders and volunteers preparing the space for patron hours.
