Sunrise Session:
Professor Jack Schmidt

November 4, 2016
7:30 am
.
Salt Lake City, UT
500 Main Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84101

"Utah and the Colorado River: the Past, the Present, and the Future"

Although primarily confined in deep canyons in the state of Utah, the Green and Colorado Rivers are
important water sources for agriculture and for cities, and hydroelectricity generated at Glen Canyon
and Flaming Gorge Dam is distributed throughout the state. These same rivers are the focus of white
water rafting tourism and are critical habitat for endangered endemic fish species. The future of these
rivers is thus linked and will be strongly affected by reduced stream flow caused by a warming
climate, increased human demands within Utah, and increasing human demands outside Utah

Registration and more information: http://sunrise.usu.edu/sunrise/

FREE and open to the public thanks to sponsorship by Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield
Sunrise Sessions begin at 7:30 a.m. with a breakfast buffet catered by the Little America Hotel.
Following breakfast, the presenter will deliver their talk for about 30 minutes with 10 minutes of
Q&A immediately following. Each session typically ends between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m.
All you have to do is register.

If you would like to be added to the invitation list, please email Aneka Christensen with your email address.
