Schedule a Tour
Guided USU Insect Tours can accommodate up to 40 people per tour by appointment only (~24 seats plus standing room). Typically, our tours are best served to classroom sized groups. Larger groups will be divided into smaller sections and rotated through the collection. Group leaders may want to consider visiting other campus sites like Aggie Ice Cream, Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, or Museum of Anthropology in conjunction with the USU Insect Tours. The tours usually last about 45 minutes and are customized for the group’s age and experience level. All tours include a short presentation on General Entomology, followed by time to view the pinned insect collections and the critters in our USU Bug Zoo.

Please make necessary transportation arrangements with the USU Parking and Transportation Office before arriving. We are located in the Life Sciences Building (LSB).
About USU Insect Tours
USU Insect Tours was initiated by the USU Insect Collection with the Oh Wow! Collection in 1998 as an effort to connect local communities in Cache Valley with the wonderful world of insects and arthropods. The program is operated by university students and faculty volunteers who are passionate about science education and outreach. The program is an important community resource, visited regularly by schools, scouting groups, and summer camps of various ages. Since the program’s initiation, we have accommodated thousands of students through on-campus tours, as well as off campus outreach events. We feel that communicating the sciences, like entomology, is at the very core of the Utah State University’s mission. Our teaching classroom is located in Room 219 in the new Life Sciences Building at Utah State University, Logan Campus. We take great pride in offering a glimpse into Utah State University's world class Insect Collection.
While visiting USU Insect Tours you can expect to see our teaching collection of pinned insects from all over the world. Our collection comes from a broad range of donor and student efforts. We also have a small Bug Zoo which contains a variety of arthropods to interact with
