President Cockett

Overview

President Cockett is USU's 16th president and the first female to serve in this role, beginning her official tenure in January 2017.

Cockett has served in many administrative roles at USU since joining the university in 1990 as an assistant professor and researcher in the Department of Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences. She served as executive vice president and provost from 2013 to 2017, vice president for Extension and dean of the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences from 2006 to 2013, and director of the Utah Agriculture Experiment Station from 2009 to 2013.

During her leadership tenure at Utah State University, she has gained a reputation for actively listening to students about their concerns and needs, as well as seeking input from faculty and staff.
