Brand Standards: Guides

Branded Goods

Spirit marks can be used on a wide range of products, uniforms, or merchandise to communicate and express school spirit.

The use of a formal logo on merchandise is always recommended; however, the marks below may be used in lieu of the formal logos on products, uniforms, or merchandise.

Spirit marks cannot be paired or combined, with formal marks on products, uniforms, or merchandise. University marks cannot be used on red products, uniforms, or merchandise. For additional logo guidelines, please see logo application.

Block A

The block A mark provides a secondary informal option for referring to Utah State University, particularly in connection with the “Aggies” nickname. The block A mark can be used in statements or phrases as long as the proper area of isolation is used.

The mark cannot be modified and should only be reproduced in Aggie Blue, Fighting White, Gray, or Black. This mark should not be used on red products.

Old Main Tower

The tower mark recognizes our heritage and stands as the landmark for our Logan campus. The tower mark cannot be modified. However, artist renditions can be used, as long as the general appearance of the tower is not altered.

The mark cannot be modified and should only be reproduced in Aggie Blue, Fighting White, Gray, or Black. This mark should not be used on red products.

U State

The standalone U State is an informal option for referring to Utah State University. The U State mark is an official university identifier and can be used as a standalone mark when used in conjunction with official marks on official communications/marketing pieces. The U State can also be used as a standalone mark on merchandise and branded goods.

The mark cannot be modified and should only be reproduced in Aggie Blue, Fighting White, Gray, or Black. This mark should not be used on red products. To create consistency with our logo suite if text is placed to the right side of the U State, the spacing must be twice the width of the standard area of isolation.

Small Imprint Items

Small imprint items include pens, pencils, flash drives, sunglasses, stress balls, webcam covers, stickers, etc. We strongly encourage these items to bear a college or administrative unit logo or wordmark. If the product imprint space is 2” x 2” or smaller, often the full logo or wordmark will not fit or reproduce well and often does not meet the licensees minimum size requirement. We do allow exceptions to be made on small imprint items. Please work with University Marketing & Communications, Trademark Licensing on these exceptions. We can help create products that maintain the integrity of our brand identity and ensure the product will imprint well.
