Hansen Life Sciences Retreat
Conference/Seminar
Scholars, including undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs, faculty and staff, who are studying biological processes at the molecular level, are invited to the Hansen Life Sciences Retreat. The interdisciplinary gathering, which features talks and research poster sessions, fosters discussion and collaboration among researchers pursuing varied projects throughout the university. The annual retreat honors the memory of renowned USU biochemist and administrator R. Gaurth Hansen (1920-2002).
MWC-Evans Writers' Workshop

Have you ever thought about writing biography, autobiography, memoir, or family history? Did you ever take a creative writing class that inspired you? Or do you have a start on a project but need some additional inspiration or maybe a nudge to take it from concept to composition? Writers of all expertise levels are invited to a Writer’s Workshop for Biography, Autobiography, and Memoir on Saturday, October 25th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Utah State University - Salt Lake Center in Taylorsville. This event is being hosted by the Mountain West Center at Utah State University in connection with the Evans Biography Awards. Harvest Rescue
Student Activities
Harvest Rescue coordinates available ready-to-harvest produce from tree and garden owners with local volunteers to pick and donate the produce to organizations who can use it. Volunteers who harvest and pick produce are required to wear closed toed shoes and be respectful of the tree/land owners property. Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to have adult supervision during sessions. Volunteers are permitted to take home a small portion of the harvested produce in appreciation for their support.

Youth Conservatory Monster Concert

Join us for the annual USU Youth Conservatory Monster Concert, a fun and one-of-a-kind piano extravaganza! With 15+ pianos on stage and hundreds of young performers playing side by side, it’s a joyful showcase of collaboration, creativity, and fun. The event also features a lighthearted skit starring our YC mascot, Frankensteinway, adding a playful touch to the program. It’s a great way to support local young musicians and enjoy an afternoon of music that’s full of energy and charm.
