Mentoring Students with Intention

Furthermore, participants will explore how to successfully engage in student mentorship through the lens of the GROW model, a structured approach that guides mentees from goal setting to actionable outcomes. The GROW framework highlights four key stages: identifying the mentee’s Goal, evaluating the current Reality of each goal, generating possible Options (and acknowledging Obstacles), and establishing the Will or Way forward. The session will review evidence-based practices rooted in the literature and incorporated into mentorship programs from around the country. Through real-world examples and interactive discussions, participants will gain practical insights into applying the GROW model and forging professional relationships with student mentees both inside and outside the classroom.

Building Resilience Through Mind-Body Bridging® Workshops
Workshop/Training
Life can be pretty tough sometimes. Why is it that some people can go through really rough times and still bounce back? The difference is that those who bounce back have resilience. Resilience is our ability to adapt successfully in the face of stress, trauma, or adversity and then bounce back to our normal state of functioning and well-being. The good news is that resilience isn't something you're born with or not. The skills of resilience can be learned. This 4-session Building Resilience Program will provide you with skills to increase resilience during and after stressful life events, improve general well-being and enhance performance in demanding activities such as academics and sports. Research indicates that increased resilience can positively affect school and life outcomes for students, including academic achievement. This program will introduce you to Mind-Body Bridging, an evidence-based practice that reduces distress and builds resilience. You’ll learn skills to increase awareness of your body, thoughts, and emotions, recognize unhelpful patterns, and reframe experiences to unlock your full potential.

Join us for a fun and meaningful craft activity where you can decorate your own sugar skull craft, inspired by the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos. This vibrant celebration honors loved ones who have passed and highlights the beauty of Latinx culture through color, symbolism, and creativity.
While you're here, be sure to visit the ofrenda on display at the museum—a special altar honoring ancestors with offerings of flowers, food, and memories. Come connect, create, and celebrate with us!
