Certificates & Pathways
The ETE10 Teaching Scholar Certificate and Master Teaching Certificates are the culminating credentials in the ETE10 program. A total of 10 ETE badges must be earned from each of the three tiers (Engage, Implement, and Contribute) to stack toward a certificate.

Certificates
The primary certificate is obtained by earning 10 badges (6 engage, 3 implement, 1 contribute badges) along with completing one of four tracks available on the Teaching Scholar Pathway.
Prerequisite: Teaching Scholar Certificate
The Master Teacher Certificate is structured to enhance instructor development by requiring participants to contribute to ETE's mission that "elevates and promotes our culture of teaching excellence." This secondary certificate is awarded by earning 10 more badges (4 engage, 3 implements, 3 contribute) including:
Either the ETE Conference - 1st (Contribute) OR the Journal on ETE (Contribute) badge, and
Either the SCOTs (Implement) OR the Peer Evaluation - Courses (Implement).
You can complete one of two tracks when earning your Master Teacher Certificate
This optional certificate designed for new faculty at USU is focused on exposing them to best practices to support student success and academic belonging as well as introducing faculty to the range of success supports available to faculty and students. This certificate is awarded by earning 3 engage and 2 implement badges including:
- Plan Your Teaching Excellence Pathway (Engage)
- Introduction to Teaching for Student Success (Engage)
- Your choice of one (1) of the following engage badges:
- Accessibility Basics (Engage)
- Communicating with Students (Engage)
- Habits of Mind Integration Workshop (Engage)
- Habits of Mind: Effectively Framing the Value of Higher Education (Engage)
- Introduction to Student Resources (Engage)
- Your Syllabus Matters: Creating a Sense of Belonging on Day 1 (Engage)
- Your choice of two (2) of the following implement badges:
- Accessibility Basics (Implement)
- Communicating with Students (Implement)
- Habits of Mind Integration Workshop (Implement)
- Habits of Mind: Effectively Framing the Value of Higher Education (Implement)
- Introduction to Student Resources (Implement)
