The USU Summer Analytics Academy held six sessions from May 8 to May 31, empowering on-campus leaders to engage and understand what analytics offer and how to leverage them effectively. The sessions were open to all university staff and faculty.

Each session focused on a different analytics tool to give a broad understanding of how to use it, its purpose, and the early successes associated with it. From vice presidents to program coordinators, an average of 30 people attended each session and were introduced to a shared vocabulary and goals to encourage future collaboration across campus.

The main goal of using analytics is to make USU a better place by gathering more information to make more informed decisions. Academy attendees discussed the principles of leadership through the scope of analytics and learned how to use analytics to analyze what is or isn’t effective at USU.

The first USU Summer Analytics Academy was well received and will be offered again next summer. For more information, contact Mitchell Colver, senior data analyst, at mitchell.colver@usu.edu or 435-797-0623.
