Explore patterns of modern Irish society through literature, language, and history as seen in the 19th and 20th centuries, highlighting Irish society since independence.


Social & Political Change in Contemporary Ireland

Examine Irish society through a sociological lens to interpret how an economic transformation, politics, and social changes have contributed to a contemporary Ireland.

SIT: Virtual Internship in Environment, Conservation & Ecosystems, Ecuador
This virtual internship focuses on the role nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) have in Ecuador in supporting research of complex environmental challenges, conservation, and education within a socio-political context. Through synchronous and asynchronous activities, seminars, group discussions, and reflection, students explore how NGOs can work ethically when developing environmental campaigns and education programs, monitoring key habitats and species, and protecting indigenous rights, amidst the challenges. Develop your professional Spanish language skills. Two semesters of college-level Spanish or equivalent are required, this virtual internship and online seminar will take place in Spanish.

SIT: Hindi Language (Beginning & Intermediate), India
Build Hindi language skills from native speakers in a small group setting at beginning or intermediate levels. Participate in daily exercises to establish core listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Suggested to have the equivalent of one semester of language study when starting the program.

SIT: Arabic Language (All Levels), Jordan
Learn modern standard Arabic and colloquial Arabic language as well as experience Arab and Jordanian culture through virtual activities over a 6-week period through synchronous and asynchronous activities. No language requirements are necessary.


Most study abroad programs are under $2000 for 3-5 credits, either summer or semester.


Cost varies, but several options are available. Mostly language learning programs; South Korea, Costa Rica, Spain, Italy.
