Naming Celebration and Report Release

for the Janet Quinney Lawson Institute for Land, Water and Air

The Janet Quinney Lawson Institute for Land, Water, and Air released its 2021 Report to the Governor on Utah’s Land, Water, and Air on Dec. 14.

State leaders and decision makers gathered at Gallivan Hall in downtown Salt Lake City to hear from President Noelle Cockett, Governor Spencer Cox, and the report's key authors on key issues regarding the state's shared resources.

A lead gift of $7 million from the Janet Quinney Lawson Foundation in October 2021 enables the institute to provide this annual interdisciplinary summary on land, water and air issues in Utah. This partnership between USU and the foundation also gives the institute its new name, the Janet Quinney Lawson Institute for Land, Water, and Air.
