Event Recap: Dobbs v. Jackson

Students listen intently to the panelist discussion about the Dobbs v. Jackson court case.
On November 2nd, the Institute of Government and Politics held an event titled, "Dobbs v. Jackson: How We Got Here and What it Means for Utahns." Professors Leslie Francis from the University of Utah and Mike Lyons from the Utah State University Political Science Department were the panelists for this discussion. Among the topics discussed were the upcoming midterm elections, other court cases of import to the topic of abortion, and their own analyses of the current political climate around this topic. Students were very engaged and asked numerous questions (after enjoying their pizza).
The IOGP's Informed Citizen Series is meant to foster learning and dialogue about difficult and polarizing topics. Stay tuned for more information about the Informed Citizen Series and other events that the IOGP will be hosting this year! We would like to extend our deepest thanks to our panelists and to the moderator, Professor Robert Ross.
