Returning Graded Work Because of the complex nature of grading in this class—which, I hope, you will see as something that works to your advantage!—you may at times experience a delay in receiving materials back from me. If you need to have materials graded and returned to you by a certain date—to assess, for instance, whether or not you need to do other assignments in the class—please turn them in as soon as you can, if possible ahead of the designated deadline. After all, if your grade on a particular assignment is of that much concern to you, then you must give me the time to assess it properly. In other words, please do not ask me for your grade on any material the day after or even the week after you turn it in. Given the number of students in the class and my other responsibilities to the University, I cannot provide grades fairly in that sort of an abbreviated time frame. Please understand I will work to grade and return assignments to you as efficiently as possible, but I must also treat all students equitably, with an eye to doing quality work for everyone. |
