Course Description

The year 1 was determined by a medieval monk, Dionysius Exiguus ("the thin"), in the sixth century CE, working from few and poor historical data. The A.D. or Anno Domini ("in the year of the Lord") system wasn't used regularly as a method of dating until after its popularization by Bede the Venerable (673-735 CE).
