Classical Drama and Theatre
Rhesus, a tragedy attributed to Euripides but probably not by him, may derive from a post-Classical author. If so—and presuming it is representative of tragic drama in its day—this novel-without-being-innovative work would go some distance toward explaining the decline and fall of Greek tragedy after the Classical age.
