- 15) Here are the scores for Quizes 1 through 12, Midterm 1 & 2,
and the Total for Section 003
and Section 004. The first
12 columns contain the scores for the 12 Quizes, the next 2 columns
the Quiz scores that will be dropped. Column 15 contains the Bonus points
from Quiz 12 and Column 16 (TotalQ) the Total for the Quizes. The next
2 columns contain the scores for Midterm 1 & 2 (Mid1 Mid2),
followed by the Total
and the percentage (so far, 600 points could be obtained).
There is no name, SSN, or any other identification on this page.
You need to know (or guess) what your scores for Midterm 1 & 2
are to identify your Total score.
If you cannot identify yourself or if some numbers are incorrect,
please talk to me AFTER the final and bring the quizes
and midterms with you that show different scores than the
ones reported on the Web page.
Based on the previous grading criteria for quizes and midterms,
an A- starts at about 87%, a B- at about 73%, a C- at about 60%,
and a D- at about 47%. These cutoff percentages are not fixed and
may slightly change after the Final, but should give you some
idea how many points you need approximately to obtain a
particular grade.
(4/28/2002)
- 16) Sorry, but I am still grading... It takes far more time
than initially expected. I will be done with grading and have
final grades posted by late Friday night at the best...
Sorry for the delay.
(5/2/2002)
- 17) Finally - here are the points for the final exam
and the resulting grades. Again, you have to identify your
midterm scores and then check your final scores in the file
for your section. New columns contain scores for each question
in the final, the total in the final, the grand total,
the %, and the corresponding grade:
Section 003
and Section 004.
The final was worth 40% of the overall grade. So, the number of
points for each question has been multiplied by a factor of 4.
I will provide solutions to the final on this Web page
early next week. If you want to look at your final, I will
be in my office this Tuesday from 10am to noon (please
e-mail for an appointment later in the summer).
Final grade cutoffs were similar to the cutoffs posted earlier,
with 5% increments for (almost) all grades. This means:
below 45: F, above 45: D, above 52: D+, above 57: C-, above 62: C,
above 67: C+, above 72: B-, above 77: B, above 82: B+, above 87: A-,
and above 90: A.
Please e-mail in case of any questions.
(5/5/02).
