1) Please work on the following textbook exercises in Moore/McCabe/Craig:

2) Recitation Problems (RPs):
As a preparation for our second midterm, go to the IPS7e Web Page at http://www.whfreeman.com/ips7e and work on the "Online Quizzes" for Chapter 2 (related to Sections 2.4, 2.5 & 2.6), Chapter 3 (entirely) & Chapter 4 (entirely). Do NOT enter your instructor's e-mail address; just save the results to your scorecard. These online quizzes are intended as a preparation for the midterm only and do not count towards your grade. However, our midterm will contain 5 of these questions in the multiple-choice (MC) part of our exam (values may be changed, some additional options may be added, and the order of answers may be changed, but the principle will remain the same), that is 5 out of 15 MC questions (i.e., 33% of the MC part).

Submit your answers via the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page. Carefully check which questions you answered correctly and which questions you answered incorrectly. If an answer is not clear to you, ask for a clarification in the recitations.

Note: In each midterm and the final, you will be allowed to use a formula sheet (1 sheet only, letter size, handwritten, text on both sides). This formula sheet can contain all useful information such as formulas, definitions, sample calculations, and solutions or solution outlines (from homeworks, past exams, the Web, etc.). Your name must appear in the upper right corner. There is no need to copy tables (such as the normal table) as those will be provided during the exams when needed. You will be allowed to add additional information to your formula sheet for each future exam - or you can fill up your sheet immediately and then create a completely new sheet for each future exam. Your sheet for Midterm 2 should be related to Chapter 2 (Sections 2.4, 2.5 & 2.6), Chapter 3 (entirely) & Chapter 4 (entirely).
