- 2) Extra Credit (Nine eggs):
Prepare an Easter basket with nine colored eggs: four red ones, three yellow ones, and two blue ones.
Randomly (without looking) grab an egg, peel it --- and eat it.
Then, randomly grab a second egg, peel it, and also eat it.
Continue until you have grabbed, peeled, and eaten all nine eggs.
What is the probability that you get a stomach ache afterwards?
Of course, you could also answer questions such as:
What is the probability that your first two eggs are red?
What is the probability that your first two eggs are of the same color?
What is the probability that your first three eggs are of the same color?
What is the probability that your first two eggs are of a different color?
What is the probability that you eat three eggs of the same color in a row when eating all nine eggs?
What is the probability that your last egg is a blue one?
And many more --- but that's not the question here ;-)
Happy Easter (and no stomach aches :-) !
