“I'm going to imagine that you're entering through the entrance where the painting Garden Carpet (Map) is located. It's the first piece you encounter in Your Place in the Multiverse. It's a fairly straight representation of a traditional Heriz carpet. Here, the pattern depicts an aerial view of a courtyard garden, with a fountain or a pond in the middle, and plantings around that. I wanted it to be the first piece you met, as a statement of my commitment to craft and decoration as part of my artistic practice.”
