Emergency Coverage
Utah State University has contracted with private companies to provide all international travelers with international travel assistance, through International SOS, and international travel accident/sickness insurance, through ACE/Chubb Insurance.
The international travel accident/sickness policy through ACE/Chubb is not traditional health insurance. It is designed to cover medically necessary care if you are injured or become sick while traveling as part of a USU program. It will not cover routine healthcare, like regular yearly check ups or exams.

If you need assistance while abroad, International SOS will help you in obtaining the best medical care available locally or, if necessary, make arrangements for you to return home to receive appropriate medical attention. Medically necessary expenses can be covered by insurance directly, or in some cases may be paid out of pocket and reimbursement sought later from insurance. Keep receipts. If you are unable to arrange for payment of expenses at the time of service, International SOS may contact USU to guarantee payment of costs. Any expenses not covered by insurance and paid by the university on your behalf must be reimbursed and will be billed to you at a later date.
