Neal Legler - December 2020

December 1, 2020

Neal LeglerWhen Neal Legler learned that USU was going fully online in March 2020, he jumped to action working with various groups of people to ensure support for all faculty who would quickly need to make the transition. This included quickly securing technology and support staff, and training these people to offer chat support. He also arranged for additional instructional design interns to help address more complex teaching needs and helped identify where those resources could best be utilized.

Neal organized and helped author a series of workshops that were delivered this summer to 613 faculty attendees in preparation for fall semester. He oversaw and did much of the content creation for the “Keep Teaching” website, which includes 61 pages of content. To date, the sum of the unique views for each of those pages is over 11,200 views. This was in addition to his regular job of managing six instructional designers and eight student employees, coordinating with technology support teams, and working directly with faculty on course design and development.

He manages to do all of this with a smile. He is the embodiment of productivity, quality, innovation, dependability, expertise, team work, vital contributions, and a positive attitude.
