Local Moab Business Wins 2025 Paint the Town Blue Award

By Marcus Jensen |

MOAB, Utah — Utah State University Moab has announced that the winner of the 2025 Paint the Town Blue Award is the financial advisement firm Edward Jones. The award was presented to the business earlier this month.

The Paint the Town Blue award recognizes a local business who showed their Aggie pride during the week of Homecoming, which was Oct. 13-17. According to Alyssa Crosby, branch office administrator at Edward Jones, this was an opportunity for the firm to practice a company mission, to show up for the communities they serve.

“Paint the Town Blue was a joyful way to celebrate Moab’s spirit and support USU students,” she said. “We were inspired by the energy of Homecoming week and saw it as a chance to connect, uplift and share our pride in being part of something bigger.”

A scholarship for USU Moab will now be named in honor of the financial firm. Because they deal with helping people be wise with their money, the firm is pleased to have their name on something that helps local students attend college with less financial burden.

“Financial literacy and planning are powerful tools, and we’re passionate about helping students build strong foundations for their futures,” Crosby said. “Knowing that this scholarship will support their journey — and carry our name — is a legacy we’re proud to be part of.”

Crosby said winning the award and having the scholarship named for them was a big and meaningful surprise.

“It affirmed that our efforts to build relationships and foster community are making an impact,” she said. “We’re honored and grateful to be part of a town that values connection and celebration.”

Samantha Campbell, interim associate vice president and dean of Student Services, added: “Engaging with the local community in meaningful ways like this is incredibly important to USU Moab. We love our community and are very thankful for the continued support from local businesses. Events like Paint the Town Blue highlight how invested Moab businesses are in our students and campus, and we truly appreciate everyone who participated.”

Located in the outdoor recreation paradise of Moab and boasting one of the greenest buildings on any USU campus, Utah State University Moab offers students the personalized attention and small class sizes of a small-town college with the resources of a large university. With programs such as Nursing, Elementary Education, Recreation Resource Management and Social Work, technical education in Health Professions, Automotive and Business, and degree options ranging from associate to doctorate degrees, USU Moab offers programs that help fuel local economies and empower individuals and their communities.
