Post-Election Panel to Offer Insight to Elections and Political Processes
By Logan Wilber |
LOGAN — The Institute of Government and Politics at Utah State University is offering the rare opportunity to hear from those who worked behind the scenes on Utah’s pivotal elections in an inaugural Post-Election Panel discussion.
The panel, moderated by Damon Cann, head of the USU Department of Political Science, will feature Gabi Finlayson and Matthew Lusty, key members of two leading campaign firms in Utah. The event will offer a behind-the-scenes perspective on the strategies, challenges and lessons learned from the campaign trail and will include a discussion of the importance of civic engagement.
“It’s imperative for voters to remain involved year-round and interested in the processes of government outside of Election Day,” said Devin Wiser, vice president for government and external affairs. “This panel will provide an understanding of the inner workings of campaigns and how campaigns affect policy.”
The Post-Election Panel will take place at 12:30 p.m. Jan 13 in President’s Hall at the David B. Haight Center. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to RSVP. Light refreshments will be provided.
