Bees evoke both fascination and fear, as we celebrate their vital contributions to our food supply and respect their intimidating stinging ability. Getting caught in a swarm of bees is a common nightmare, so it’s no surprise filmmakers often cast bees as ‘villains’ in popular flicks. But how do directors coax the tiny creatures to perform on cue and how do actors emerge (mostly) unscathed?
