UWLP Lifelong Learning Program
Welcome to the UWLP Lifelong Learning Program (LLP). We’re glad you’re here and hope that you’ll stay and learn with us throughout 2023. This is a self-directed program that will provide you with the opportunity and resources to better understand, analyze, and apply general concepts that affect women and girls of all ages in all places as well as specific issues and concerns for Utah women and girls. This is a great tool for both personal and professional development. It’s our hope that as you move through the program, your confidence and capabilities will increase so that you can improve your life and positively influence others around you.
Instructions
- Participants accrue points throughout the calendar year and are recognized as they reach milestones at 10, 20, and 30 points.
- One point = approximately one hour of learning.
- Points are awarded for completing a combination of required and optional learning materials as outlined on the LLP 2023 Learning Materials Guide.
- Participants track their progress on the LLP 2023 Point Tracker and submit it to Deborah Lin (deborah.lin@usu.edu) when they reach each milestone.
- As participants meet each milestone, they will be recognized with a digital certificate, on this page of our website, and on our social media channels. Those participants who complete the entire program and earn all 30 points will be invited to a special event with Dr. Susan Madsen in January 2024.
- Points may be awarded retroactively for those that completed one or more of the UWLP online courses prior to January 1, 2023. This information should be added to the LLP 2023 Point Tracker along with the date of completion.
- There is no official enrollment for this program as it is open from January 1 – December 31, 2023. Participants may continue working on the program until they reach 30 points or until December 31, whichever comes first.

Testimonials
Elizabeth M. Miller – Lifelong Learner
I initially started the program to learn about subjects in Utah that directly impacted me, such as financial literacy and why we need more women leaders in Utah. Soon, however, I found myself really curious about other perspectives such as women of color, and moms returning to the workforce. I discovered some fantastic blogs and podcasts. The flexibility in learning was also a key consideration for me. As someone who moved to Utah almost a decade ago, there is so much for me to learn! I would encourage anyone wanting to learn more about women's experiences in Utah or advance in their career to take this program.
Haley Swenson – Lifelong Learner
I didn't feel that I needed to be attached to a desktop to participate and learn, which is a huge factor as a full-time working mom of twin toddlers. This program gave me the flexibility to learn and develop on my own schedule, which is often a huge conflict for parents.
Stephenie Glissmeyer – Empowered Learner
As an older woman going back to school and starting a new career, I've appreciated the confidence and knowledge I've gained through the Lifelong Learning program.
