Welcome to SOAR
SOAR stands for Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration, and that is a good summary of what you will accomplish through the program. Even if you earned college credit or an associates degree while in high school, you will receive information necessary to enroll and succeed in the university setting. As an incoming first-year student, you are required to complete SOAR.

What is a First Year Student?
A first year student is anyone who is attending Utah State University for the first time and has not yet completed 24 or more post high school credits (does not include AP or Concurrent Enrollment).
New Student Dates & Deadlines
- Now - FAFSA applications open, on-campus housing applications ongoing
- March 1 - Enrollment Confirmation and SOAR registration for Summer and Fall semester begin
- March 26 -Priority SOAR Registration Deadline for student beginning Fall semester (more likely to aquire requested classes)
- April 10 - SOAR session for student starting Summer semester (student can do SOAR Online if they can't make it to this day)
- May 1 - SOAR registration deadline for students beginning Fall semester
- August 15 - First Fall semester tuition and fee payment deadline (postmark by August 8)
- August 18 - First move-in date for on-campus housing
- August 27 - Fall semester begins
