Kirk Hansen Family Endowment

The Kirk Hansen family originates in Soda Springs, ID with children and grandchildren scattered throughout Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. Kirk and three of his sons owned and operated a Mountain West regional petroleum distributing company for over fifty years until selling the company in 2015. Kirk served for twenty-eight years as Mayor of Soda Springs and as a member of the Idaho 6th Judicial District Magistrates Commission for twenty-years. His late wife Debi and he are parents of seven children. She passed away in 2006 and he married his wife Sue in 2010, adding her four children to our family. Of their eleven children, nine received their secondary education start at USU. Kirk, his late wife Debi, and wife Sue attended and graduated from USU. The Hansens have held eighteen football season tickets and ten basketball season tickets for many years. They love watching the progress of the student-athletes both in the classroom and on the fields/courts. By funding this endowment, the Hansens feel the finest athletes and brightest students can represent this great university. The Kirk Hansen Family Endowment provides an annual scholarship to a Utah State Student-Athlete from the state of Idaho.
