In early spring of 2019, a group of friends self-titled "the brethren" who were once roommates at Utah State University (USU) gathered for their annual and beloved "man trip" in St. George, Utah. This was a special man trip celebrating ten consecutive years of this reunion. After a round of golf, an idea was pitched to establish an endowment fund to help USU students in need.

A month before "the man trip", the endowment idea was first presented to Brady before anyone else. Brady was eager to be a champion and supporter of the endowment when it would later be pitched to the group at the upcoming trip. Everyone agreed that establishing the endowment was a great idea and the positive response especially pleased Brady. At that time, it was not clear who should receive the assistance and how best to name the endowment.

Later that summer, on July 8, 2019, Brady succumbed to his struggles with mental illness. Hundreds, from all backgrounds and walks of life arrived at Brady’s funeral to celebrate his life, his positive influence, and his efforts to minister to, and to rescue others who were also suffering from mental illness. From this moment, it became clear that the endowment would be created in honor of Brady and that it would offer the kind of assistance he freely gave to others.

The Brady Apostolo Student Hardship Endowment is established to provide financial assistance to domestic and international USU students, who are in danger of withdrawing due to unanticipated temporary financial hardships resulting from emergency or crisis situations (e.g., accident, physical or mental illness, death of a family member). The goal of this fund is to help ensure that USU students have access to the support and resources they need to successfully recover from their unexpected hardship.

Brady inspired us with his example of reaching out to many in need. Our hope is that the Brady Apostolo Student Hardship Endowment will add to his legacy by reaching and positively affecting USU students in need. We ask that you join us in honoring our dear friend and brother Brady with a gift to this endowment.
