Director of Development for Major Gifts
The Director of Development for Major Gifts is responsible for raising gifts to support the mission, vision and priorities of USU Athletics. The position will focus on the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of athletics major gift prospects/donors. The position is responsible for achieving identified goals and objectives established by the Associate Athletics Director for Development in coordination with the Athletic Director and Vice President of Advancement. The position will also work closely with various members of the advancement division, coaching staff, athletic development staff, and other appropriate campus and external groups. The position will help further the Athletic Development Mission, which is to invite alumni and friends of the university to support Aggie athletics through engagement and philanthropy.
Alumni Engagement Associate Vice President or Senior Director
The Alumni Engagement Associate Vice President (AVP) or Senior Director (SR Dir) plans and implements a comprehensive and inclusive program that strategically engages alumni and creates rewarding engagement experiences that are designed to foster lifelong connections to Utah State University. The AVP/SR Dir leads and sets goals and priorities for department staff and is a member of the Advancement leadership team. By developing programming that offers alumni diverse opportunities for engagement, the AVP/SR Dir promotes a comprehensive understanding of the University’s mission, goals and priorities. Working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders, the AVP/SR Dir provides oversight and executive direction to the Alumni Association Advisory Board and alumni chapters.
Sr. Director of Development – Gift Planning
The Sr. Director of Development-Gift Planning (Development Officer SR) provides overall guidance and management of the planned giving program and team. She/he is responsible for the acquisition of philanthropic planned gifts and evaluating gift planning officer performance. The Sr. Director enhances the performance of other fundraisers by helping them develop planned giving and complex gift competencies, providing feedback and perspective on their fundraising approach/methods, coaching them to realize their optimal performance and objectives, and traveling with gift officers to assist donors in achieving their philanthropic goals. She/he will identify planned giving prospects to help achieve USU advancement’s goals.
Email and SMS Specialist
The Email and SMS Specialist (Marketer I) plays a critical institutional-wide role in managing and overseeing the email campaign process for USU Alumni and key stakeholders. This position is responsible for representing high-level senders such as the USU President, Deans, and Vice Presidents, ensuring that all communications align with the university's strategic goals. This role involves email setup, deployment, and performance tracking, ensuring emails are optimized for various platforms and devices. With a strong technical skill set and knowledge of accessibility standards, the specialist ensures all email content is accurate and complete, creates relevant landing pages, and makes judgment calls to optimize email performance. Additionally, this role includes managing mailing lists, audience segmentation, and analyzing email metrics to refine strategies.

Advancement staff are engaged in the meaningful work of securing private financial resources to fuel Utah State University's mission by creating gratifying gift and engagement experiences for USU's generous and passionate alumni and friends.
Comprising the division are the office of the Vice President, the USU Foundation Board, Advancement Services, the Alumni Association, Planned Giving, Corporations and Foundations, Stewardship and Donor Engagement, the Annual Fund and Phonathon. Furthermore, the division coordinates all fundraising efforts across campus, including colleges, various programs, extension campuses, and USU Athletics. Through the collaboration of these units, the Office of Advancement is able to achieve significant annual fundraising goals by inspiring stakeholders to invest their time and resources in Utah State University.
