Maeser Chemistry Laboratory (1922-2013)
Sherwin Maeser was born in Beaver, Utah, on August 7, 1888. He received a bachelor’s degree from BYU in 1909 and a Ph.D. from the University of California in 1921. He joined the Utah State University (then the Agricultural College of Utah) faculty immediately thereafter. While at the Agricultural College of Utah, he served as chemistry department chair. He moved to emeritus status in 1954 and fully retired from the University in 1965 or 1968. He died in Logan, Utah, on November 23, 1969.
