Brian Suite Aggie Athlete Scholarship Fund

This endowed scholarship fund is named for Brian Suite, an Aggie football player who graduated with the Winningest Senior Class in the history of Utah State University Football and a degree from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. Suite lost a valiant battle to cancer in 2020, at the age of 28.

During the three seasons that Suite played with the Aggies — 2012-2014 — the team won 30 games, including the last-ever WAC Championship (2012), the first-ever Mountain Division Championship in the Mountain West Conference (2013), and 3 bowl games. The Aggies ended the 2012 season ranked in the Top 25 in the nation, according to the AP Poll, ESPN/USA Today Poll, and BCS rankings.

A team captain and member of USU Football's Leadership Committee, Suite was named Academic All-Conference each year that he played. In 2013, Suite was the only player from the Mountain West Conference named to the 25-player SI.com All-Bowl Team and one of only two players from the MWC listed on the All-Bowl Team posted by CBSSports.com. In 2014, Suite was a First-Team Preseason All-Mountain West selection by Phil Steele, a College Football Performance Awards National Defensive Back of the Week Honorable Mention, a finalist for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year, and one of 39 DBs in the nation named to the watchlist for the Jim Thorpe Award "honoring the best defensive back in college football."

In 2015, after an outstanding Pro Day performance, Suite was invited to work out with the Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers, and Detroit Lions. The undrafted free agent signed with the Lions and played in 4 NFL Preseason games.

Suite was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, fishing, and hunting in Cache Valley; loved USU traditions like Lighting the A Blue and eating Aggie Ice Cream; and quickly became an Aggie for Life.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Suite attended Punahou School for 13 years where he set two state records in the 4x100m relay and helped his teams win 3 state championships in 3 different sports: football, baseball, and track & field.

The Brian Suite Aggie Athlete Scholarship Fund was established to honor the legacy of an Aggie great and provide scholarships for deserving student-athletes who demonstrate leadership, respect, and a commitment to excellence — some of the qualities that Suite brought into the classroom, onto the field, and out to the community.
