REACH Peer Program

To Apply

Peers work under the direction of Counseling and Prevention Services (CAPS), dividing their time between coaching one-on-one mental health skills sessions and campus outreach projects.

Peers receive extensive training consisting of: 1) completing an online 6-part stress and anxiety management workshop (self-study) ; 2) attending summer monthly Zoom training meetings; 3) attending a weekly two-hour class taught by a licensed psychologist; and 4) participating in weekly individual supervision with a CAPS mental health professional both semesters of the academic year.

Application submissions open each year on Jan1 and are due by noon on March 1 for the following summer and academic year.  To apply, complete a REACH Peer Application and accompanying requirements (essays, resume’/vitae, and letter of recommendation), submitting to capsinfo@usu.edu with the subject line, “REACH Peer Application, First Name, Last Name.” For questions about the program or the application process, please email the REACH Peer Coordinator, Dr. Monique Frazier, at: monique.frazier@usu.edu.
