By attending CAPS workshops you will be exposed to a variety of skills to help improve your quality of life and relationships. You are welcome to attend all the workshops or pick and choose the ones that you are most interested in. Workshops are free and will be held through Zoom.

Grief is something everyone will experience yet it is something many of us do not understand. This workshop will look at common myths about grief, the difference between grief and mourning, what to expect, finding ways to cope and how to support those experiencing loss.

Mind Brain Body Burnout
This one-hour workshop will focus on learning about the warning signs and antidotes to burnout, focusing specifically on learning more about work/life balance and developing easy stress reduction strategies. We will also focus on John Arden’s SEEDS of mental health as a guiding tool for building self/health care in your personal life.

Come to learn about effective stress and anxiety management. Specific skills will be introduced in this workshop that is based upon part lecture and part attendee participation.

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) involves responding in the same supportive and understanding way you would with a good friend when you have a difficult time, fail, or notice something you don’t like about yourself. This workshop will provide didactic on the three components of MSC—mindfulness, common humanity, and self-kindness—as well as space to practice meditations that foster each of the components.
Is your self-care routine in need of a tune-up? Self-care involves lots more than a bubble bath or retail therapy. It should be realistic, including actionable steps that make a real impact in many areas of your life. This workshop will provide a quiz to help you evaluate your current self-care strategies and develop all kinds of new ideas for being the healthiest, happiest version of you. It will help you identify the ways in which you’re already doing well, and some ways in which you can step your self-care game up.
Couple and Relationship Skills
The one-hour Couples and Relationship Skills workshop will focus on research-based skills and principles that have found to improve communication and effectively navigate conflicts in relationships. We will also discuss communication styles, relationship patterns, and conflict management strategies.
Perfectionism—NOT the perfect approach
Come join CAPS psychologist, Monique Frazier, to identify where perfectionism shows up in your life, how to shift to the healthy pursuit of excellence, why failure is important, perfectionism interventions, and alternative options to a perfection-driven life.
Introduction to Mindfulness
This workshop will introduce participants to the ideas and practices of mindfulness, as well as their benefits. Participants will also get to experience several different mindfulness strategies.
Think It Over
Come learn about the Cognitive Triangle, identify your unhealthy thinking habits, and learn how to untwist your thinking at this hands-on workshop that teaches you some great cognitive behavioral therapy basics!
