You Can Become a Summer Citizen Too
Discover the story behind one of Cache Valley’s most beloved traditions. This presentation explores the 50-year history of the Summer Citizens Program, which began in the 1970s after displaced senior learners found a welcoming home in Logan and helped create a thriving lifelong learning community. Attendees will learn how the program grew through strong partnerships with Utah State University and local organizations, evolving into a beloved summer experience for adults 55+. The presentation will also highlight the program’s recent transition to the Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce, which now leads operations, community engagement, and continued growth while preserving its legacy of education, connection, and cultural enrichment.
The LDS Logan Tabernacle Concert Series is a beloved Cache Valley tradition offering free, high-quality performances in a historic setting. Highlights include the daily Interfaith Noon Summer Concerts and seasonal favorites like the "Ringing in Christmas" celebration. Featuring a diverse range of local talent, the series fosters community and interfaith connection through the power of music.
Come learn more about the rich history behind these programs and experience a sampling of the music and spirit that have made them such enduring parts of our community.
