Community Art Day

Arts/Entertainment

Create your own cardboard Cryptid What is a cryptid? A cryptid is a mysterious creature—like Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster—whose existence is claimed but not confirmed by science. Artist Clayton Bailey used his imagination and humor to bring these mythical beings to life, blurring the line between science and fantasy. In this playful sculptural activity, you’ll use cardboard pieces, fasteners, and fun materials to design your own cryptid creature. Will it have wings? Fangs? Camouflage fur? Let your imagination go wild! You’ll also get to name your creature and write a short “field tag” describing where it lives and what it does. All materials are provided. Step into the role of both artist and explorer as you dream up a new species never before seen by the human eye!

Meet the Artist: Gregg Deal Communitas Lecture

Arts/Entertainment

NEHMA is partnering with USU’s College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Art and Design for the March Communitas Lecture. This month we are thrilled to welcome Gregg Deal, whose painting, Ziggindigenous, is featured in The Lure and Lore of the West. Ziggindigenous was newly acquired by NEHMA thanks to the generous support of Cris and Janae Baird.

Join us March 25 for Deal's Communitas lecture followed by an in-gallery performance at NEHMA.
