Intermountain Intertribal Indian School Murals Conservation and Exhibition
Intermountain Intertribal Indian School was the largest boarding school for Native Americans in the United States. Intermountain was a place completely adorned in student artwork and was an environment that quite literally surrounded its students with physical reminders that their own cultural identity was valued enough to be permanently showcased in both public and private spaces.
The twelve murals, under the care of Utah State University, are some of the last physical remnants from Intermountain and contribute significantly to depicting the experiences of the Native American students who attended the school. It is imperative that these murals be conserved, as they are possibly the only remaining material, cultural artifacts from Intermountain.

NEHMA Art Enthusiasts Club
Take your love for art to the next level by joining NEHMA Art Enthusiasts Club—a group passionate about supporting and connecting over art! Our Art Enthusiasts Club provides an opportunity to connect with fellow artists and art lovers, while experiencing art first-hand through quarterly private events and field trips. More than 60 university museums nationwide participate in this reciprocal membership program. Members are exempt from any admission fees when visiting these museums. Participating museums include the Brigham Young University Museum of Art, the Hammer Museum of Art at UCLS, and the Yale University Art Gallery.
Members of the NARM can visit more than 1,000 cultural and historical institutions— including botanical gardens, children’s museums, and science centers— at free or reduced member prices. Members are offered discounted tickets to various concerts and lectures, in addition to discounts at museum shops and cafés. Museums include the Peabody Museum of Natural History and the Dalí Museum.
