Junior Curators: "Look for the Good"

Virtual Exhibitions by Spring Creek Middle School Students

December 18, 2020 - February 26, 2021

NEHMA has adapted the Junior Curators program into an online experience. This online experience can accommodate in-school or at-home learning. If your class is unable to visit NEHMA in person, students can still learn about curation and find inspiration from the NEHMA collection online as they create classroom exhibitions from home or school.

The assignment asks students to create original artwork and pair it with pieces from the NEHMA collection that complement their own. You can find the assignment materials on our Education page.

Meg Erekson, an art and ceramic teacher at Spring Creek Middle School, partnered with NEHMA staff to incorporate the Junior Curators assignment into her classes. The students worked together to create five virtual exhibitions related to topics under their theme for this year: "Look for the Good." Each artwork and pottery piece portrays the good things in the students' lives, showing a range of emotion and imagination.
